Police Blotter June 5, 2019

Newton Police Department

• Jerry E. Bird, 40, of Newton, was charged with disorderly conduct and fifth-degree criminal mischief at 7:38 p.m. June 3 in the 2000 block of South Third Avenue East. According to the Newton Police Department, officers responded to a call of a verbal domestic called in by witnesses. Officers viewed a video of Bird yelling at the victims and using threatening language. Bird reportedly intentionally hit the mirror off of a victim’s vehicle. Officers spoke to multiple witnesses who observed the incident. Bird was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
