NEW SHARON — Colfax-Mingo senior Braedynn Rawlins captured her third straight South Iowa Cedar League outdoor track championship on May 6. Rawlins won the SICL girls’ shot put with a throw of 35 feet, 6 3/4 inches.
It was the only event championship of the conference meet for the Tigerhawk girls.
C-M’s girls were eighth as a team with 52 points in the SICL standings. Belle Plaine rolled to the 2019 SICL girls’ outdoor championship with 122 points and BGM was second with 100 points.
Colfax-Mingo’s 1,600 distance medley relay team of seniors Jordan Atwood and Colbee Cunningham, sophomore Riley Carroll and junior Abbey McConeghey ran a season’s best time of 4.50.18 to claim the silver medal.
In the 800, McConeghey was the silver medalist in a season’s best 2.44.74.
Colfax-Mingo freshman Kyra Lester captured the silver medal in the discus with a season’s-best throw of 102 feet. Atwood was third in the long jump with a leap of 15-9.
Colfax-Mingo senior Ilia Hostetter placed fourth in the 3,000 in 13.16.70.
