NEW SHARON — Colfax-Mingo’s boys’ track and field team was led by Brady Berkey and Holister Koenig at the South Iowa Cedar League outdoor meet on May 6 at North Mahaska High School.
Berkey was the runner-up in the high jump and Koenig finished second in the long jump as the Tigerhawks were seventh overall with 65 points.
Lynnville-Sully won the team title with 123 points. HLV was the runner-up with 86 points.
Berkey hit 5 feet, 10 inches to claim second in the high jump. Koenig’s second-place leap in the long jump was marked at 19-5.
The 4x800-meter relay team of Colton Hernandez, Hunter Green, Coleman Craig and Zach Steenhoek finished second in a time of 9 minutes, 13.86 seconds.
Trinity Schroeder was third in the 110 high hurdles (15.9) and Steenhoek was third in the 1,600 (5:09.23).
The shuttle hurdle relay team of Schroeder, Berkey, Hernandez and Zarek Hill were third in a season-best time of 1:06.07 and the 4x400 relay team of Koenig, Hernandez, Ethan Summy and Green finished third in 3:51.18.
Hunter Green took fourth in the 800 in 2:13.39 and the 4x200 relay team of Ethan Summy, Koenig, Steenhoek and A.J. Gibson finished fourth in 1:40.87.
