DYI Rain Barrel and Tomato Tower workshop

Jasper County Conservation will host a hands-on workshop at 6 p.m. Monday at the Jasper County Armory/Annex Building in Newton. Build your own tomato tower and/or install supplies needed to convert a 55-gallon tank into a rain barrel. Tomato towers help support heavy producing indeterminate varieties. Rain barrels help save money on water during summer.

The cost is $50 for a rain barrel kit and $40 for a tomato tower kit. All supplies and tools needed will be provided. Space is limited and participants must register through the JCC office in the Jasper County Armory/Annex Building, 1030 W. Second St. S. in Newton or call 641-792-9780.
