Members of the community gathered Friday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in downtown Newton to take part in the annual Humanity’s Way of the Cross ceremony. Seven of the downtown churches took part in the walk. Each stop had a reading and prayer before the cross was carried to the next stop. The event is organized by the Mission Coalition, an interdenominational group of Newton churches working to the serve the community.
