Mustangs finish fifth at Oskaloosa

OSKALOOSA — Mack Bussan shot a personal-best 90 and finished fourth overall to lead PCM’s girls’ golf team at the Oskaloosa Invitational on April 18.

The Mustangs were fifth out of 12 teams in the tournament. PCM shot a 403 and finished behind Grinnell (372), Washington (378), Centerville (387) and Pella (397).

Gabbi Van Baale was next after Bussan with a personal-best 100, while Allison Wood (personal-best 104) and Alexis Dross (109) had the other two counting scores. Brooke Dross (112) and Magan Van Haaften (137) had non-counting scores.

Short-handed Mustangs finish sixth at B-F

ALTOONA — PCM was missing three of its top four golfers because of the State FFA Convention, and the Mustangs finished sixth out of six teams at the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational on April 15.

The Mustangs shot a 494 at Terrace Hills Golf Course. Roland-Story won the tournament with a 366 and Colfax-Mingo was second with a 386.

Bussan led the Mustangs with a 10th-place finish as she finished with a 100. Van Baale (107), Van Haaften (132) and Kaydee Fowler (155) were the other three counting scores.

Roland-Story’s Kaitlyn Rahfeldt won medalist honors with an 82.

Colfax-Mingo’s Delaney Underwood shot an 83 as the runner-up.

PCM ends up 10th at West Marshall

STATE CENTER — Still playing short-handed, PCM had only four golfers and finished 10th out of 10 teams at the West Marshall Girls Invitational at Lincoln Valley Golf Course on April 16.

The Mustangs shot a 529 but were missing three of their top four golfers because of the State FFA Convention.

Bussan led PCM with a 107. Van Baale shot a 108 and the two other counting scores came from Van Haaften (139) and Fowler (175).

Grundy Center won the tournament with a 375. Nevada was the runner-up with a 387 followed by BCLUW (390).
