Ky Du Seu

March 31, 2019

Ky’s Du Seu passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019. He was fun loving and wouldn’t hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. He was very proud of his children Jeremy Michael, Anthony Daniel, Jennifer Mayli, Koren Sangpartjen and Kaylanna Selmae. He had many stories he shared and instead of another sad news piece, we’d figure we’d tell our father’s story from the way he once told us.

Ky was born Jan. 1, 1961, in Vientiane, Laos. Ky was so ingenuitive, he allegedly built a homemade boat out of garbage and sailed his way to the U.S. Once here, the first thing he did was get something in his stomach, hotdogs. Being as generous as our dad was, he shared with a stray shih tzu who mistook his finger for the hotdog. Our father passed away many years later with only nine-and-half fingers because of that shih tzu who learned to fly the day our dad came to the states. Nonetheless, he always had a good sense of humor and would smile if he were reading this like we hope you did.

Always remember it’s never too late, go do the things that scare you, be grateful and treat others the way you would want to be treated. We are almost positive Ky arrived by a wormhole Jan. 1,1961, and left that same way March 31, 2019.

You are encouraged to write a note of farewell on a Budweiser can and drink it in his honor.

Visitation with family will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at O’Leary’s Funeral Services in Norwalk with a dinner following at Cool Basil in Clive. Please come and share your story about Ky.

And don’t forget it’s never too late to practice more gratitude and to make time for the ones you love, it adds years to your life!
