JCC Summer Camp Kickoff

Registration will open for Jasper County Conservation’s summer camps from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Jasper County Armory/Annex Building in Newton.

Jasper County Naturalists are currently offering 12 different camps and are expecting several more to be added later this spring with the addition of two teacher externs on staff.

Various outdoor related subjects will be covered such as wildlife habitat, nature art, digital photography, pond life, fishing, bird banding, kayaking and more. An overnight camping excursion and an ocean camp are new this year. Camps are offered for children ages five and up and locations will vary depending on the camp.

Registration will be completed with a signed waiver and payment. Any spaces remaining will contine to be filled, starting March 26, during normal office hours at the Jasper County Conservation office, 1030 W. Second St. S. in Newton.
