Diamond Trail FFA members meet U.S. Secretary of State

Four members of the Diamond Trail FFA had an experience of a lifetime. Schools from central Iowa were invited to bring a limited number of FFA members to meet the 70th United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, March 5 at Johnston High School. Students were also able to meet and speak with U.S. Ambassador to China, Terry Branstad.

Students were able to pose questions to Pompeo. This provided FFA members the chance to advocate for agriculture and FFA while learning more about politics and international agriculture.

The chapter selected students who are involved in international agriculture through the World Food Prize. The students representing PCM were seniors Madeline Samson and Morgan DeHaai, along with juniors Blake VanDerKamp and Caleb Geer.
