C-M’s Atwood, Rawlins give promising starts to season at UNI Indoor

CEDAR FALLS — Newton High’s Cardinal girls and two of the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawk girls opened track action on March 4.

The nine area girls competed in the annual University of Northern Iowa’s A.D. Dickinson Relays at the UNI-Dome.

Colfax-Mingo seniors Jordan Atwood and Braedynn Rawlins competed in field events.

Atwood placed 17th in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 6 inches. Rawlins took 20th in the shot put at 34-3.75.

Colfax-Mingo’s next meet is the South Iowa Cedar League indoor on March 18 at Grinnell College.
