Newton Police Department
• At 11:43 a.m. Tuesday, officers were sent to an accident at the intersection of South 12th Avenue West and West 18th Street South. According to Newton police, a black 2018 Ford Edge, driven by Christopher L. Ingalls, 50, of Clive, was eastbound on South 12th Avenue West and a red 2018 Subaru Outback, driven by Hari C. Basnet, 31, of Omaha, Neb., pulled out of the parking lot at Newton 66. Basnet did not see Ingalls and the Outback collided with the Edge on the driver’s side, causing damage totaling more than $1,500. Basnet was cited for unsafe entry on to the roadway.
