• Cody W. Neef, 35, of Newton, was charged with domestic assault at 9:18 a.m. Saturday. According to Newton police, officers were sent to a residence at the intersection of West Fourth Street South and Fifth Avenue for a domestic violence call. Officers spoke with the victim, who said Neef allegedly struck her in the face while sitting in her car, causing injuries and bleeding to her nose and lip. The victim was treated for her injuries at Skiff Medical Center and requested a no contact order against Neef. Neef was taken into custody, received the no contact order and was released.
