‘The Great One Eight’

Commemorating PCM’s journey to the state championships

In honor of PCM’s record-setting, history-making 2018 football season, Shaw Media has compiled a book commemorating the season. The glossy feature publication includes Troy Hyde’s and Jocelyn Sheets’ sports coverage of each game, Hyde and Jamee Pierson’s features detailing PCM’s journey to the Dome and photographs by Hyde, Kevin Ives, Pierson and Sheets.

The pages chronicle the specifics of the PCM Mustangs’ incredible season. For the first time in school history, the Mustangs earned a 13-0 record and took home a state championship trophy when they defeated Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley. PCM ranked number one in total yards, total points, yards per play, rushing yards, touchdowns and rushing touchdowns in Class 2A. Their win under the Dome also came on the heels of winning their third consecutive Class 2A district title in their eighth game of the season Oct. 12.

The 44-page book features stories from each of the 13 games, re-living each pass, run and tackle that led to the eventual state championship. It is filled with hundreds of vibrant photos capturing the efforts the players brought to the field in the quest to bring home the 2A trophy
