PELLA — PCM’s basketball teams got swept by Pella Christian Dec. 3.
The PCM girls were plagued by a cold shooting night, and the Eagles claimed a 56-27 win. In the boys’ game, Pella Christian downed the Mustangs 83-52.
PCM junior Regan Freland had 16 points, five rebounds and six steals to lead the PCM girls.
“We had good shots, but they just weren’t falling,” PCM girls coach Jeff Lindsay said.
Senior Mack Bussan scored six points, junior Kate McCarthy grabbed seven boards and sophomores Emma George and Lilli Baird each had four rebounds.
Junior Sierra Foster tallied two steals and junior Lexi Kuecker had two assists.
The Pella Christian girls (2-3) led PCM 29-15 at halftime and then outscored the Mustangs (2-2) 27-12 in the second half.
PCM’s boys (1-1) ended a long losing streak against Pella Christian last year, but the Eagles (2-1) got back on track this season with a convincing win at home.
