Corporate America

Unfortunately, it appears this country got what it wanted, which is a strong corporate America. I have discovered the following in the last few years: huge corporations have taken over apartment complexes, small local hospitals and health insurances, especially Medicaid.

I have noticed many changes during this period of time. Our local hospital, which used to respond to personal complaints and fix the problems, now ignores their customers completely and increases paperwork for their employees so they have less time for their patients.

The LLC who runs Newton Park Apartments continues to slack on keeping things up and expects their tenants to watch their properties for them because they can’t afford to and laughed when I told them they needed a landlord living on the premises to keep the drug addicts off.

And last but not least: after the MCOs took over Medicaid, they ignore the needs of the disabled. DHS staff has been cut to the quick while the MCO staff is increasing. As I watch, people are leaving our state because they are tired of fighting for family members to get life-saving medical care. The rich will continue to get richer and the poor will continue to get poorer so our streets and jails will fill up quickly.

Please join me in fighting these injustices by contacting your local State Rep. Wes Breckenridge.

Thank you!
