Wesley Septer

Oct. 14, 2018

Wesley William Septer, 38, Litchfield Park, Ariz. passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, due to complications of diabetes. Wes was born March 29, 1980, in Newton and graduated from Newton High School.

At 15 months, after receiving the mandated MMR, Wes was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. With blood sugar more than 2000, Wes was not expected to survive.

In March 2015, Wes’ insulin pump malfunctioned and with a PH of 6.7 was once again not expected to recover. After spending six weeks in Arizona to regain his strength, he relocated to be closer to his parents.

In April 2018, Wesley was in ICU for six days. The cruel disease took a toll on his body, but not even once did he complain about the intense routine of testing, injections, eating on schedule and all the rituals of this cruel disease.

Friends and family were Wesley’s life. While not overly enthused about academics, he was passionate about sports and social activities. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, attending all sporting events, being a season ticket holder to the Arizona Cardinals and most of all Fantasy Football where he was known as “The Goat,” greatest of all time. One of his greatest attributes was staying in contact with friends almost daily, but some as his parents have learned, having ESP to call when they needed a cheerful, caring voice. In all the texts, calls and letters sent to his parents, there is one common thread, Wes never met a stranger, put a smile on everyone’s face and made all feel important.

Wes enjoyed his job in outside sales and quickly learned his way around the Valley Of The Sun.

Wesley is survived by his daughter, Chloe Taylor Septer; his parents, Bill and Connie Septer of Goodyear, Ariz.; and his dachshunds, Sophie and Sam.

Bill and Connie will be hosting a celebration of Wesley’s life from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at Best Western Holiday Manor, 208 W. Fourth St. N. in Newton, and invite all who knew Wesley to share their memories.
