Experience counts

This election cycle we have the unique opportunity to vote for a candidate for County Supervisor who will bring knowledge and experience to the position. That person is Pam Olson, a 39-year dedicated employee in the Jasper County Engineer's office.
Pam graduated from the Hawkeye Institute of Technology with an associate degree in civil engineering. Her on-the-job experience includes surveying and construction of roadways, bridge and culvert design and preparing plans to let roadway projects as well as their inspection.

When Pam was promoted to assistant to the County Engineer, she continued with design and inspection work on asphalt projects and took on project audits for the DOT, pre-work on utilities, crossings and right-of-way permits. Pam also puts together information for the office's yearly budget and created a spreadsheet to show monthly expenditures of the department.  In coordination with the county engineer, and his anticipated expenditures, the new askings are submitted to the County Board of Supervisors for approval.

Although this is only one piece of the county’s overall budgetary process, Pam understands what it takes to create department budgets, funds the money goes into and is expended from. Since her promotion, Pam also works in a supervisory capacity with other techs within the department.

Pam has the experience, integrity and tenacity to move quickly into a leadership role for the county as a supervisor, and she will work full time for Jasper County to ensure that all citizens are served while being mindful of budget constraints. Please join me and vote for Pam Olson for Jasper County Supervisor. Experience counts!
