Vicki S. Shafer

Vicki Sue Bland Shafer, 52, of Carlisle; formerly of Newton went to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Vicki’s funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at Community Heights Alliance Church, 2500 S. 13th Ave. E. in Newton with a reception to follow. After the reception burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Churchville.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7p.m., Friday, Oct. 12 at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Memorials can be made to Vicki’s Grandchildren’s Trust, in care of Kendee Fox. Memorials may be left at the church on the morning of the service or at the funeral home.

Vicki is survived by her husband: Mark; three sons: Josh (Angela) Brant, Justin Brant, and Jacob Douglas; three grandchildren: Christian Davis, Kali Brant and Levi Brant; her parents: Dean and Connie Bland; sister: Cheryl (Bill) Hansen; brother: Rick (Rhonda) Bland; brothers-in-law: Mike (Tess) Shafer and Doug (Jane) Shafer; sisters-in-law:JoAnn Routh and Diane (Trevor) Pemberton; and many nieces and nephews.

Vicki was proceded in death by her grandparents Milar and Opal Bland, Olen and Margaret Brown, great-grandparents Robert and Faye Kelley and a brother-in-law Patrick Shafer.
