• Antone A. Monteiro, 25, of Worcester, was charged with possession of a controlled substance at 10:43 p.m. Sept. 21. According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began when deputies pulled over a vehicle heading eastbound on Interstate 80, near the 165 mile-marker. While interviewing Monteiro, a deputy reported an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle’s cab. Monteiro allegedly admitted to possessing the marijuana in his backpack which was sitting on the passenger seat. Monteiro was arrested and transported to Jasper County Jail.
