Chapter KEN TTT

Chapter KEN T.T.T. held a picnic meeting Sept. 11 at First Lutheran Church. Heidi Holley and Clarice Sigurdson acted as hosts providing beefburgers, chips and drinks. Members brought sides to fill in the meal. Following dinner the camp girls shared their memories from the summer.

A short business meeting followed. Roll was taken, minutes read and the treasurers’ report was given. Changes to membership for the upcoming year were shared and approved. Several members agreed to work on the programs for the coming year and changes were made to the information. Members signed up for hosting and committee duties.

Kay Parsons reported all the items needed for the cheese ball sales in November are being purchased. Rose Evans shared the new RADA catalog and orders were taken. Dues were also paid. The next meeting will be at Val McKee’s home and a program will be given.

Kellogg Garden Club

The Kellogg Garden Club is inviting the Baxter Garden Club to join them as they tour Chuck Jackson’s orchard later in September. Earlier in the month the Kellogg Club will be guests of the Baxter Club when they meet at the Newton Arboretum and enjoy a presentation by John Krzton-Presson, Iowa State University Extension Horticulture and Local Foods Program Coordinator.

Inclement weather caused the Kellogg Garden Club to postpone their tour of Laura Hanawalt’s gardens.
