• Tyler W. Shipley, 44, of Albia, was charged with driving with a revoked license, eluding an officer, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 5:07 p.m. Monday. An officer saw a white Buick LeSabre pull into a residence on Highway 14. The owner was reportedly away on vacation. The officer ran the license and found the suspect had a revoked license and several warrants. He attempted to stop Shipley as he was pulling out of the driveway, but Shipley refused to stop and a chase of up to 110 miles per hour commenced. The chase went northbound on Highway 14. The vehicle eventually slowed down after hitting stop sticks. The officer arrested Shipley, and discovered a bag of methamphetamine in his pocket, along with a pipe inside a cup in the vehicle. Shipley told the officer it was his and he tried to flee because he was “scared.” He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
