OTTUMWA — The Colfax-Mingo cross country teams competed at the Pekin Invitational at Wildwood Park on Aug. 30.
The Tigerhawk boys, led by junior Hunter Green, were eighth, and the girls finished 10th and were led by senior Ilia Hostetter.
The Colfax-Mingo boys scored 272 points in eighth.
Ottumwa won the meet with 56 points, Fairfield was next with 62 and host Pekin scored 76 in third.
The Tigerhawks were better than South Iowa Cedar League foes Sigourney, North Mahaska and English Valleys.
The C-M girls scored 319 points in 10th. Ottumwa won the team title with 60 points.
Pekin scored 65 in second followed by Danville-New London with 79 points.
The Tigerhawks finished ahead of Sigourney and North Mahaska.
Green was the top Tigerhawk boy as he finished 31st with a time of 20 minutes, 7.7 seconds.
Senior Cauy Fitch was 34th with a time of 20:09.07.
Junior Cyden Fitch was next in 64th followed by sophomore A.J. Gibson in 71st and freshman Coleman Craig in 72nd. Sophomore Avery Lees was 94th.
Hostetter was the top finisher from Colfax-Mingo on the day. She was 24th overall with a time of 23:59.07.
The next best finishers were seniors Delaney Underwood and Payton Rhone, who were 68th and 71st, respectively.
Underwood finished in 27:32.59 and Rhone crossed the finish line in 27:46.84.
Junior Chelsey Atwood was 77th, senior Jordan Atwood placed 79th and sophomore Daytin Chadwick ended up 81st.
Senior Colbee Cunningham was the final varsity runner in 91st.
Colfax-Mingo hosts its Tigerhawk Invitational at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the Colfax Country Club.
