Special service for Missionary Service

Immanuel Baptist Church would like to invite the public to join with the church family in a special service as the John Groeneveld family is sent into medical missionary service in Togo, West Africa.

John Groeneveld grew up here in Newton, and is leading his family to serve God in Togo, in a medical missionary ministry through the partnering with The Association of Baptist for World Evangelism. Both John and his wife Tabitha are trained in the medical field and along with their family have already served two short term ministries in Togo.

Recognizing God’s hand on their lives and his calling them to serve in this way and place, Immanuel Baptist Church has commissioned them to missionary service with ABWE and will be conducting a very Special Send-off Service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1300 N. Fourth Ave. E. in Newton.

A guest speaker Dave Culver, from Jamestown, Ohio, will deliver the challenge to both the missionaries and the church as the commitment for prayer and support is a large portion of the focus of this very special time.

The church family would encourage those who know the Groenevelds or who have a heart for mission’s ministries to join in this special and important time in their lives. A free-will love offering for the Groenevlds will be taken and a time of light refreshments will follow the service with opportunities for greetings and fellowship.
