GOP Jasper County Candidates Town Tours

Candidates Tim Shay for Senate District 15 and Ann Howell for State House District 29 will be campaigning at the following events in towns throughout Jasper County.

• 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday Blue Ribbon Café Baxter

• 10:30 a.m. Saturday Baxter City Parade

• 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday Newton City Market

• 4:30 p.m. July 19 Prairie City Market

• 6 p.m. July 23 Jasper County Fair Parade in Colfax

• 6 p.m. July 24 Bondurant City Market

• 5 to 6 p.m. July 26 Bridgehouse Coffee for Coffee and Conversation

• 10 a.m. July 28 Prairie City Parade

Shay and Howell said they are touring to hear concerns of the voters.

“Our grassroots campaign is for the people and because of the people. We stepped up to protect the values we share with our neighbors. It’s important for both of us to hear what our residents want of their elected officials,” Howell said.

“It’s time for the frustration to be heard by the residents who live the struggles every day. Ask us about who we are and what we are about but it’s not really about us, it’s about the voters. What can we do for them?” Shay said.

August town tours will be announced while on the road to Nov. 6. Shay and Howell will be heading to East Polk County and Jasper County.
