Jason K. Pothoven

July 2, 2018

Jason Kent Pothoven was born Feb. 9, 1971 in Oskaloosa, the son of John Phillip and Joni Kathleen (Loumsbury) Pothoven.

Jason was raised in Oskaloosa and Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Newton High School with the Class of 1989. He then attended A.I.B. in Des Moines. Jason worked for Hy-Vee, as a bakery manager, at different locations for several years. He was currently employed at Pella Corp in the accounts receivable department. Jason was united in marriage to April Thomas on May 23, 2009. The couple have always made Knoxville their home.

Jason was a huge Knoxville race fan, in fact he loved watching anything with a motor that went fast. In his spare time, he also enjoyed following pro athletics, particularly the cowboys and studying civil war history. His greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends, especially his daughter and son.

Jason passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 47 years.

Those left to cherish Jason’s memory include his wife, April; children: Abby and Larry Pothoven; parents: John Pothoven and Joni (Rich) Bailey; sisters: Beverly Kelso and Laura Rose; nine nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Wendy Thomas; sister and brother-in-law, Molly and Seth Pregon and many other family members and friends.
