Lorna M. Brandt Valentine, 94, of Newton, died Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Newton Health Care Center in Newton.

Lorna’s funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends with a lunch at the funeral home immediately following the funeral service. Burial will be at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton following the lunch. Memorials to the donor’s choice may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. If you are mailing the memorial to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Valentine Family on the envelope.

Those left to cherish Lorna’s memory are her son, James M. (Marlene) Valentine of Bondurant; grandchildren, Darla (Scott) Davidson of Bondurant, Scott (Brianna) Valentine of Bondurant and JoAnna (Ethan) Huisman of Clive; her great-grandchildren, Ryan Davidson (fiancée, Madison Conner), Trevor Davidson, Tanner Valentine, Kylie Valentine, Emma Huisman and Ellie Huisman; great-great-granddaughter, Caraline Davidson; her brother, Valjean (Arlene) Brandt of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her sister, Charlene Merritt of Flower Mound, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard in 1994; and daughter, Claudia Wyatt in 2014.
