Newton Police Department

• Terry L. Mudra, 58, of Newton, was charged with public intoxication and possession of contraband in a correctional institution after authorities were called at 10:54 p.m. Friday to 1425 N. 11th Ave. E. Officers were called about a fight and identified Mudra. He had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. He admitted to having alcohol that night. Officers instructed him to return home and stay there. He went to his residence but left again. He was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail. While at the jail, officers found marijuana in his pants.

• Jeremy Z. Bleeker, 34, of, Newton, was charged with driving while barred after authorities pulled him over at 3:19 p.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of South Seventh Avenue East. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Nathan R. Dunsmoor, 31, of Newton, was charged with operating while under the influence after authorities were called at 3:44 a.m. Sunday to 2901 N. 19th Ave. E. Officers were called about a person diving and ramming other vehicles. Officers identified Dunsmoor who they found had struck another vehicle, pushing it into an attached garage, striking a propane tank. He had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. He admitted to having 12 beers. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
