Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Adam J. Kurk, 37, of Grinnell, was charged with operating while under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance after authorities pulled him over at 11:18 p.m. Monday in the 8000 block of Highway 6. Officers pulled Kurk over for a traffic violation and found he had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. He also had slowed, slurred speech and a BAC of more than .08. Officers found several open alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle along with a bag of marijuana. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Stacey A. Parker, 45, of Des Moines, was charged with carrying weapons after authorities pulled her over at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday in the 6000 block of Highway 6. Officer pulled Parker over for a traffic violation and found she had a flashlight that could be used as a weapon that could produce an electric current without the appropriate permit to carry. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Alexander F. Shafer, 20, of Newton, was charged with third-degree harassment after authorities were called at 11:20 p.m. May 1 to the 3000 block of Highway 14. The victim was having an argument with Shafer when he took out a knife from the kitchen in a threatening manner. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Daniel J. Felten, 24, of Newton, was charged with driving while barred after authorities pulled him over at 11:21 p.m. April 30 at 1 Cardinal Court. Officers stopped Felten for a traffic violation and found he did not have a valid drivers license. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
