Jasper County Health Department received a grant to start Parent Cafés in Jasper County. Parents Cafés are designed to engage parents in meaningful conversations about what matters most – their family and how to strengthen that family by building protective factors.
Kristina Winfield, Becky Pryor and Melissa Gary recently attended the required training to facilitate Parent Cafés.
“We are excited to receive the grant and believe that this will enhance the Parent as Teachers program serving Jasper County and also give parents a positive opportunity to connect with one another,” Becky Pryor, administrator for Jasper County Health Department, said.
The first Parent Café will be from 4 to 6 p.m. May 16 at the Jasper County Community Building, 2401 First Ave. E. in Newton. The theme is “Magical Jungle of Parenting.” The Parent Café will offer parenting connection, meal, incentive gifts, child care and a special program called Zumbini with Rosa.
If you are interested in attending, RSVP to Becky Pryor at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 641-787-9224.
