Shedenhelm’s goal lifts PCM girls over Chariton

CHARITON — Junior Shaylee Shedenhelm scored the only goal of the game, and it helped the Prairie City-Monroe girls’ soccer team to a 1-0 win over Chariton on Tuesday night.

The Mustangs improved to 2-0 this season when scoring at least one goal. They are 2-3 on the season, with all three losses coming by shutout.

Shedenhelm’s third goal of the season is now a team-high. Two other players have two goals each — Valentine Velghe and Emma George.

The Mustangs take on Collins-Maxwell at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Maxwell. PCM lost to the Spartans 3-0 last week.
