• Robert J. Vangundy, 21, of Des Moines, was charged with providing false identification information, driving while license denied or revoked, operating non-registered vehicle and possession of controlled substance after authorities were called at 12:04 a.m. Saturday to the intersection of Highway 14 and North Fourth Avenue West. Officers were called and found Vangundy, who had turned in front of a truck pulling a trailer almost causing a collision. Vangundy was unable to provide plates, insurance or ownership documents for the vehicle. He also gave a false name of an individual who had a suspended license and was arrested. Vangundy then informed the officer of his true identity and that he had a bag containing 11 grams of marijuana. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Kaylee V. Riddle, 21, of Colfax, was charged with operating while under the influence after authorities pulled her over at 11:49 p.m. Friday on Highway F48. Officers were called about a person leaving McDonald’s who was believed to be intoxicated. Officers pulled her over and Riddle admitted to consuming at least three alcoholic beverages, and she smelled of alcohol. Riddle was also observed having bloodshot, watery eyes. She was cited and released to appear.

• Pheng Lee, 29, of Des Moines, was charged with consumption of alcohol in a public place after authorities were called at 8:43 a.m. March 27. Lee was seen standing in the middle of a public roadway before returning to his vehicle where he lost control and rolled it. He smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes and slowed speech. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Devin J. Bailey, 21, of Newton, was charged with voluntary absence from custody after he attempted to flee at 5:48 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Newton Correction Facility. Bailey walked past the correctional officers and out of the front door of the facility. He was ordered to stop and he refused. Officers were able to grab onto him but he resisted and was able to pull free. He then ran south from the facility and jumped a fence into a farm field. Officers were able to catch up to him in a vehicle, and he was taken back into custody.

• Michael T. Jackson, 63, of Newton, was charged with operating while under the influence after authorities pulled him over at 10:46 p.m. Wednesday at 2305 E. 19th St. N. Jackson was found driving around Sunrise Terrace trailer park without any headlights late at night. Officers found he smelled strongly of alcohol and he admitted to drinking two beers. He had a BAC of .117. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
