Virginia R. Shaver

Virginia R. Shaver, 89, of Newton, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 18, 2018, at Accura Healthcare of Newton East.

A private time of remembrance and celebration of life will be Tuesday, March 27 at Newton Union Cemetery. The Pence- Reese Funeral Home in Newton, has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, memorials may be designated to Virginia’s family in her name.

Virginia was born April 21, 1928, in Sullivan County, Mo., the daughter of Lee Roy and Elsie D. (Yardley) Shaver. She was employed 35 years by the Dun-Lap Manufacturing.

Virginia is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Max Rabourn of Newton; her nephews, Steve Rabourn and his family of Wyoming and Curt Rabourn and his family of Newton; and many good neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, J.L. “Junior” Shaver (Virginia); and a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie (John B.) Norris.
