The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) Union, which represents union workers at The Vernon Company, recently ratified a two-year contract agreement recently with the Company that included work rules, wages and benefits for union members.
Of the agreement, Chris Vernon, President & CEO of the Vernon Company, said, “I want to thank both the Company and the Union committees for their hard work putting together this agreement. We appreciate the time and effort these negotiations can take.” He continued, “Vernon has a long history of working with Union members to find solutions and help keep our costs in line with the market. I believe that this agreement helps ensure a strong working relationship for the future.”
The previous contract was set to expire Feb. 28. The new contract will be in effect until 2020.
The Vernon Company, a fourth-generation family business founded in 1902, manufactures and markets promotional products designed to help other businesses increase sales and improve profits. The company has more than 30,000 customers, served by 275 account executives throughout the United States and Puerto Rico and 210 administrative and production employees in its Newton, Iowa, headquarters and two sign graphics manufacturing subsidiaries based in Missouri and New Jersey.
