• Ginger M. Weter, 51, of Newton was arrested at 11:02 a.m. Feb. 21 at the Adult Probation Office on a warrant for probation violation, original charge third-degree theft. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jenna L. Lawson, 24, of Newton, was charged with possession of controlled substance- marijuana at 7:35 p.m. Feb. 17 after police were called to 512 W. Second St. S. in reference to a possible fight. She told police she had a small amount of marijuana inside the residence, and she showed officials a bag with 4.4 grams of marijuana and another bag with .5 grams. She was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

• Jordan J. Troen, 25, of Newton, was charged with third-degree theft for an incident around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 when police saw Troen riding a stolen mini-bike in the 500 block of West Fourth Street South. Police told Troen he didn’t have the right license to ride the bike. The bike was reported stolen the next day when the owners didn’t know Troen had taken it. The bike was recovered Feb. 20 when it broke down on him at Hy-Vee. The bike was valued at $500. He was released and issued a citation to appear in court.
