David C. Ogg

Jan. 30, 2018

David Ogg, born Feb. 17, 1940, a former resident of Kellogg, departed this life Jan. 30, 2018, surrounded by his family at his home in Green Valley, Ariz. He was under the care of Hospice during a short battle with cancer.

His parents, Donald Robert Ogg and Carolyn Baird Ogg, raised their two sons in Kellogg, where Dave attended public school and was graduated with the Class of ‘58. He then attended Drake University in Des Moines, where he met and married Sue Vander Linden of Pleasantville. They were happily married for 55 years at the time of his passing.

His career in the insurance business was spent in the Kansas City area. They lived in Overland Park, Kan., where they raised their sons. When he retired they moved to Lake of the Ozarks, where they resided for 20 years before moving to a more temperate climate in Green Valley, Ariz., in 2015.

David is survived by his loving wife, Sue of the home; and their three sons, Tim (Misty) Ogg and their two children, Adyson and Garrett of Tuttle, Okla., Jeffrey (Susann) Ogg and their three daughters, Peri, Andie and Lily of Prairie Village, Kan., and Scott Ogg and his two daughters, Rivers and Rylee of Keller, Texas. He is also survived by one aunt, Sara Baird Conde of Columbia, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Paula Ogg of Edina, Minn.; and many cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his only brother, James Wesley Ogg.

The family wishes to thank Hospice for their loving care during his last days and for all the condolences and expressions of sympathy extended to us by friends and family during this difficult time.

A celebration of life gathering will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5 at Historic Thompson Barn, 11184 Lackman Rd., in Lenexa, Kan.
