Jasper County Health Department welcomes Melissa Gary and Brittany Eckert as the new Jasper County Parents as Teachers Educators. Gary has worked for Jasper County since 2003 as a Home Care Aide. Eckert is a new employee with a degree in education.
On Feb. 1, Jasper County Health Department started the new Parents as Teachers program.
Parents as Teachers is funded through the Greater Poweshiek Foundation though the Jasper, Marion, Poweshiek (JMP) Early Childhood Iowa Area fund with Marion County as the lead agency. The group is dedicated to the highest quality of child abuse prevention programs which foster family growth and development. We believe that the parent is the child’s first and best teacher.
