Danny Lee Cleaver

Danny Lee Cleaver, the son of Max and Ruth (McKinley) Cleaver, was born Aug. 23, 1950, in Centerville. He graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the class of 1968.

In 1975, Danny was united in marriage with Wanda Jean Rouse in Newton. Danny worked in the maintenance department at Thombert’s for 30 years. He always enjoyed his projects around the house, taking care of his family and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Danny died Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. He was 67 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to honor Danny’s memory include his wife, Wanda Cleaver of Newton; his daughter, Stephanie Cleaver of Newton; his sister, Cathy Anderson; and his brother, Gary (Nelda) Cleaver.

A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated in Danny’s name and may be left at the funeral home.
