Newton Police Department
• Jennifer L. Frisch, 41, of Newton, was charged with domestic abuse assault, first offense, at 7:31 p.m. Jan. 7 after police were called to a residence on North Fifth Avenue East in reference to a domestic assault. When officers arrived Frisch had gotten into an altercation with the victim. Frisch said she poked the victim in the face and shoved her and then victim slapped Frisch. Police didn't see any injuries to the victim's face. Witnesses confirmed the victim's story. Frisch was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Nathan R. Dunsmoor, 31, of Newton, was charged with violation of no contact order at 8:05 p.m. after Dunsmoor sent the victim a text message, violating the protective order. He was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
