Newton Police Department

Madison A. Noe, 19, of Newton, was charged with two counts of possession of controlled substance — marijuana at 10:27 p.m. Dec. 20 after police stopped at vehicle in the 1200 block of South 12th Avenue West. The Mercury SUV was driving with a brake light out. Police noticed the smell of marijuana and searched the vehicle and found a grinder, glass pipe and roach inside Noe's purse. Police found a green leafy substance inside the grinder. The substance weighed .06 grams and tested positive for marijuana.

• Justin G. Sheehan, 32, of Newton, was arrested at 10:43 p.m. Dec. 24 at 1414 W. Third St. Place N. on a Jasper County warrant for domestic abuse assault. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Lee P. Reed, 35, of Newton, was charged with driving while barred at 12:22 a.m. Dec. 22 after police saw a black Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on South Eighth Avenue East with a damaged windshield and expired registration. Reed told police he didn’t have a license and his tags were expired. He was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

• Colton J. Kopet, 21, of Marengo, was charged with driving while license denied or revoked at 12:14 a.m. Dec. 25 when police were called to the 700 block of West Sixth Street South. A vehicle matching the description pulled over in the roadway when the officer arrived. Kopet was the driver, and his license was revoked for OWI test failure. Kopet was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
