Kaci Kent

Kaci Leigh Kent, 27 of Newton died on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Skiff Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials to Kaci’s family may be left at the funeral home.

Kaci, the daughter of Joseph Leo and Pamela (Showman) Kent, was born on Aug. 9, 1990 in Ottumwa. She lived in Ottumwa until the age of four when the family moved to Newton. Kaci graduated from Newton High School in 2009. For almost two years, Kaci had been working at a Culinary Supervisor at Windsor Manor in Grinnell. She enjoyed her job and managing her employees. Kaci also liked to cook, garden, shop and spend time with her family.

Kaci is survived by her son, Ashton Dean; fiancé, Lucas Hoxie of Newton; parents, Joseph and Renee Kent and Pamela Kent, all of Newton; her siblings, Kristen (Jr) Sandoval of Newton, Aaron (Samantha) Stewart of Newton, and Amanda Stewart of Monroe; niece, Amara Sandoval; her maternal grandpa, Danny Showman of Martinsburg, Iowa; and her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Stephanie Kent; paternal grandparents JoAnn Kent and Jim Quinn; and maternal grandma, Norma Showman.
