In reference to the column in the Newton Daily News by Marc Dion, I feel it was the worst column I have ever read.
You’re getting sick of Jesus is sad but you have the God-given right in granting you with a free will to love, hate, etc. as was given Adam, Satan and all of mankind. Jesus has never said to not bake a cake for anyone. Not to hate the Jew, nor the Muslim, not the homosexual. Poor, rich, black or what. On the contrary, he has told us to love them. Jesus as God loves his creation but hates sin wherever it is found, including Christians.
Sex has no bearing on God’s love. In the beginning, he created them male and female and commanded them to reproduce. Jesus demonstrated his love and compassion for the poor, destitute, homeless, widows and orphans and instructs us to do the same. I don’t see where that has ever changed. Jesus did show compassion but his main purpose was to go beyond that and provide a greater need of mankind and that to free us all from the penalty of our sin.
For that reason, the world over celebrates his birth (Christmas) and resurrection (Easter). Much more could be said but it really doesn’t matter. The Bible quotes, “Let God be true and every man a liar.”
