What a great way to start Christmas

Wow, did I have fun Friday night when our courthouse was lit up, followed by the lighted Christmas parade.

My grandpa John drove his 1931 Model A Ford for the Newton Rotary Club. It has a rumble seat in back, and that is where I got to sit during the whole parade. His car was all fixed up with a decorated wreath, green streamers, ribbons and bows and hundreds of lights. It was really neat.

When we drove in the parade I got to wave to my friends and everyone else and shout “Feliz Na Vidad” in Spanish this means “Merry Christmas.” There must have been thousands of people shouting back at us.

Before the parade started, I got to walk around with my grandpa and say “hello” to everyone. we saw everything to be in the parade ahead of time. I got to meet a lot of new people, including the student from Ukraine, and her American sisters

I am 9 years old, and like to write stories about exciting things in my life. This is going to be one of the best.
