Tom Sherratt

Tom Sherratt, 73, passed away Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at his home in Newton, after a lengthy illness.

Tom was born Aug. 14, 1944, and attended schools in Newton graduating in 1962. After high school, Tom served his country in the Marine Corps. His love for adventure led him on many different paths including cowboying in Wyoming, rodeoing, auctioneering and working at Blank Park Zoo. Tom most recently retired from a sales position with WW Manufacturing. His love of nature made taxidermy, hunting, fishing, wildlife photography and exploration of Native American beliefs his favorite activities.

Tom is survived by his mother, Dorothy Sherratt of Newton; sister, Sue Yoder; and brother, Glen Sherratt (Karen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Military honors and visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the American Legion in Newton.
