• Christopher B. Hasselbrink, 25, of Newton, was arrested at 1:22 p.m. Nov. 7 at 220 E. 28th St. N. on a Jasper County warrant for a bond revocation, original charges simulated public intoxication. Hasselbrink was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Jason T. Purtilo, 34, of Newton, was arrested at 12:19 p.m. Nov. 9 at 515 First St. S. on a Jasper County warrant for probation violation, original charge possession of methamphetamine. Purtilo was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jerry D. Fortune, 67, of Newton, was charged with operating while under the influence at 4:14 p.m. Nov. 8 after officers were called to a vehicle accident in the 8200 block of Highway S74. The driver, Fortune, admitted to drinking. Fortune failed sobriety tests, and he was arrested. He requested to go to the hospital because of his back and the officer transported him to Skiff Medical Center. Fortune was later taken to the Jasper County Jail.
