Newton Police Department

• Ashley N. Drake, 27, of Newton, was charged with forgery, unlawful possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia at 6:17 p.m. Nov. 5. Drake had an active warrant for forgery for an incident at Casey’s General Store on First Avenue East. Drake allegedly used a check that was reported stolen by the owner of the account. Drake was taken to the Jasper County Jail. She was asked prior to arriving to the jail if she had any illegal items in her purse, and she said there were a few needles. Police found a needle, two spoons and two small baggies with residue. Two Zolpidem pills were also found. She told police she didn’t have a prescription for the drug.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Dalton J. Reimer, 25, of Grinnell, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance — marijuana — first offense at 3:25 p.m. Nov. 3 was stopped for speeding and for a faulty brake light on Highway 6 East in Kellogg. The driver began to hide a shiny object in his glove compartment. Reimer was questioned about the contents and was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Reimer was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
