Six area volleyball players were honored by the South Iowa Cedar League coaches recently when they were named to the all-conference teams.
Colfax-Mingo senior Ries Wilson was voted to the first team and Lynnville-Sully junior Shiloh Cunningham earned second-team honors.
Colfax-Mingo senior Megan Earles and junior Chelsea Russell were both honorable mention selections along with Lynnville-Sully seniors McKinley Conover and Skyler Young.
Wilson ranked first in SICL matches with 35 aces, was second with 223 kills and ranked fourth with 177 digs. She also had five assists and was 142-of-160 in serves.
In overall matches, Wilson ranked second with 388 kills, fifth with 305 digs and sixth with 50 aces. She had 19 assists and 21 blocks and was 241-of-270.
Wilson finished her career with more than 1,000 kills and more than 1,000 digs.
Cunningham finished with 53 kills, 15 aces, 38 assists, 95 digs and 33 blocks in conference play. She also was 115-of-126 in serves.
In overall matches, Cunningham collected 102 kills, 26 aces, 69 assists, 137 digs and 71 blocks. She was 212-of-237 in serves.
Conover ranked in the top four in overall digs and digs inside SICL play. Her 211 digs in conference play ranked first overall and the 315 overall ranked fourth.
She finished with 63 kills, 18 aces and four blocks and was 199-of-211 in serves inside SICL play. Overall, Conover tallied 118 kills, 37 aces and 11 blocks and was 336-of-366 in serves.
Young was the Hawks’ setter. She ranked fourth in overall assists in the SICL with 468 and fourth in conference assists with 255.
Young tallied four kills, 16 aces and 137 digs while connecting on 192-of-198 in serves. Overall, she finished with 10 kills, 30 aces and 217 digs while hitting on 348-of-365 serves.
Earles, who finished her career with more than 1,500 assists, ranked second in the SICL in both assists in conference play and assists overall. She had 301 assists in conference play and 527 assists overall.
In the SICL, Earles also finished with 20 kills, nine aces, 110 digs and was 153-of-155 in serves. Overall, Earles tallied 39 kills, 27 aces, 202 digs and was 309-of-319 in serves.
Russell ranked second in digs during SICL matches with 187. During conference matches she also had four kills, 13 aces and nine assists. She was 152-of-156 in serves.
Russell was sixth in the SICL in overall digs with 287. She also had five kills, 23 aces and was 238-of-257 in serves.
