Park Centre employees presented scholarships

Three employees of Park Centre in Newton have been awarded a combined total of $3,000 in scholarships to further their education in healthcare related fields.

The Park Centre Professional Development Scholarship Program was established in 2010 by an anonymous donor. Recipients this year include Kari Adams, Savannah Wood and Sarah Coy.

Employees who have been employed at Park Centre for at least six months are eligible to apply for funding for tuition and education related expenses while furthering their studies in any field related to health care.

WesleyLife is a nonprofit organization with a Christian mission to support the independence, health and well-being of older adults wherever they call home. WesleyLife operates seven continuing care retirement communities throughout Iowa, with an eighth community currently under construction. Brio in Johnston is set to open in the Summer of 2018 and other current communities include Wesley Acres in Des Moines, Halcyon House in Washington, Heritage House in Atlantic, Park Centre in Newton, The Village in Indianola, Edgewater in West Des Moines and Hearthstone in Pella.
