Peter Steven Roussos

Peter Steven Roussos, the son of Steve P. and Penelope (Katsuras) Roussos, was born July 26, 1929, in Newton. Pete graduated from the Newton Senior High School with the class of 1947. Pete worked as a manager at Steven’s Grill Restaurant in Newton, which was owned by his father.

On Dec. 27, 1967, Pete was united in marriage with Karen L. Breiting in Newton. Pete worked for the Maytag Company in Newton. He retired from the Plastics Laboratory department. Pete was a member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Des Moines.

Pete died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at his home in Newton. He was 88 years old.

Those left to honor Pete’s memory include his wife, Karen of Newton; his sons, Matt Roussos of Newton and Nick (Laura) Roussos of Newport Beach, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Private family services will take place at a later date. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
