Ag Outlook & Management seminar Nov. 13 in Altoona

ALTOONA – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host an Ag Outlook & Management Seminar in Altoona from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Polk County Extension office at 1625 Adventureland Drive — Suite A in Altoona.   This program is designed to provide participants with an evaluation of current grain and livestock market conditions, expected trends for income potential, as well as management and farm financial implications. Speakers include ISU Extension economists Lee Schultz, Chad Hart and Wendong Zhang.

The registration fee for this seminar is $35 per person or $50 per couple payable at the door at 8:30 a.m. The first session on livestock outlook begins at 9 a.m. This fee includes a catered lunch, refreshments and all training materials. Beginning at 1 p.m. at this same Altoona site is a live webinar on 2017 Farm Income Tax Planning. This session will be broadcast statewide and sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. Presenters include Kristine Tidgren, staff attorney with the ISU Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation, and Charles Brown, Extension Farm Management specialist. There is no charge to participate in the afternoon webinar.
