NCMP’s Aquagirls have two more swim meets this week to finish the regular season. They have the second annual Little Hawkeye Conference meet Tuesday in Indianola where they go in as defending champions.

On Saturday the Aquagirls compete in the North Central Iowa Conference meet at Decorah.

Then they turn their attention to the 2017 regional swimming meet on Oct. 28. NCMP has been assigned to the regional hosted by Johnston at Summit Middle School in Johnston. Swimming events begin at noon on Oct. 28.

Regional diving is at 5 p.m. on Oct. 26 at Summit Middle School. NCMP does not have divers.

Joining NCMP and Johnston in the regional will be Ames, Boone, Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, Des Moines East, Des Moines Hoover, Des Moines Roosevelt and Mason City. The first-place finishers in each race automatically qualify for the 2017 Iowa High School Girls’ Swimming and Diving Championship meet on Nov. 4 in Marshalltown.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union announced the ticketing procedures for the 2017 State Swimming and Diving Meet will change this year. The IGHSAU is teaming up with GoFan to give swimming and diving fans the ability to purchase tickets to the state meet in advance on their mobile devices.

Beginning Oct. 23, spectators will be able to purchase tickets to the state meet through the IGHSAU and GoFan websites. Individuals will be allowed to purchase up to eight tickets for both Friday and Saturday sessions prior to the state meet.

Spectators must have e-tickets purchased to enter the YMCA/YWCA gym when it opens at 9:00 a.m. for Saturday’s swim meet. Regular tickets (tickets not purchased electronically) will also be available for purchase at the north gate at the Marshalltown YMCA/YWCA at 4 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

More information regarding e-ticketing will be available prior to tickets being available on Oct. 23.
